      <image:title>Image Descriptors - New Incognito Window</image:title>
<image:caption>New Incognito Window is a drawing about sex and drugs and rock and roll. Although, that phrase is a little dated now isn’t it? Maybe it’s a drawing about dying and dopamine and underground. At the time that this drawing was made, I was noticing a lot of swooshy airbrush/spray paint shapes (or just actual airbrushing and spray paint paintings [June Culp, Austin Lee.]. I first drew the outline of the shape of the snake. I was emulating the shape that a large tube of paint would squeeze out. After defining the outline, I set the snake ablaze with black flames over its spine. The snake carries two sins in the folds of its curves; envy, and lust. Scattered around the drawing are a number of pop-culture and art historical references: the club outfit of the character Bertha (Super Mario Bros.), the iPhone (Apple), the candle (Dan Colen / Pinocchio), the snake (Eden), the toothbrush and the envelope are a reference to earlier works in my career. *The toothbrush refers to a sculpture I made inspired by Romero Britto’s 3-Dimensional works. The envelope is a reference to a watercolor painting I did of the first check I ever received for selling a work of art.* In New Incognito Window I want the viewer to imagine that they are in the middle of, and looking around at, a dark and very loud night club. They have lost the friends they came with and are now moving through a sea of bodies, ideas, and conversations. Internally the drawing contains both a bunch of little narratives and one large blurry narrative. It’s about the themes of partying and doing naughty things at night. What’s exciting is the amount of possibility that comes out of going to a place to party. There’s a sense that you could dance, or drink, kiss, or cuddle, meet your partner, or your maker. It’s an important experience for humans to practice going someplace that you are unsure of what is going to happen, with the expectation that nothing in particular will happen, but you can still have a goal in mind that you want to achieve. That sense of excitement is where New Incognito Window draws its name from. For those unfamiliar with the term, an incognito window (also known as incognito mode, private mode, etc.) is the process of opening up a new browser window which does not save the searches, visited pages, login details, and cookies, after the browsing session has ended. There can be any number or reasons for which why someone might use incognito mode. They may use a shared family computer and don’t want their child or spouse to accidentally see a record of a surprise birthday gift. The person may want to listen t`o “embarrassing” music that they are ashamed to be associated with and want to have some sense of privacy attached to their experience. The individual might be dating a jealous or possessive person and want to stalk their ex without causing a huge fight. The person using incognito mode may be looking to learn about islam and judiasm in a devout catholic household. Or they could be doing some dirty saucy searching for steamy photos and videos. Or they could be looking up crimes and thinking that they can get away with them. Or maybe they are trying to watch a snuff film or a death compilation. There are of course infinitely more reasons why people may do some crazy effed up searching, but another good one it because using an incognito window is a great way to feel free to fuck around and look up whatever it is that you want to. Knowledge and access to a variety of knowledge will naturally bring curiosity. Curiosity, while having your hands on a device that runs the internet and can look up the largest collection of centralized human knowledge, in all of human history? Yes please! This power is insane! I feel like I’ve got God’s gloves on. And of course, naturally, when a power is handed out to the human race, the human race has a tendency to pull it from multiple directions as hard as it can. The good and the bad run both ways. Some people righteously connect humans to resources and information without and expenses to the receiving party; and they do so in an accurate presentable way. Some people use this internet power to mask their own insecurities through anonymous and public hoarding of attention and wealth. Look at me, la la la ! This validation is presented in robotic standard (see; likes, hearts, shares, reposts, copies). All of which leads more to a dynamic fight of the ideals. I think in the one camp of extremism is the argument “the internet is a tool and tools are for me to use and its my plaything and whatever I think is fun is fun and you can’t stop me for being myself and don’t hate on my for being different and special or talking in a special way.” This way of thinking can be easily corrupted by both the far left thinking individual (the one who co-opts equity and equality for their own self promoting purposes and in doing so actually detracts from making funds go directly to the individual affected. Anyone who uses charity and non-profits to fund a lifestyle that includes owning a fancy boat and doesn’t know the names of the people they are giving money to.) and also by the far right thinking individuals (who are so fucking stupid ignorant that they think making racist jokes as an excuse to say slurs about people really makes them clever. No, you are just a racist fucking waste of blood and organs and thought).</image:caption>
